Summer Skiing in Europe

There’s excellent summer skiing to be found in Europe, particularly glacier skiing, and with some great last minute ski deals on, you’re certain to be able to find one that’s perfect for you.

Ski in Europe this Summer

France has several resorts with good summer skiing, and the Grande Motte glacier makes Tignes a first choice for many. At an altitude of 3650m you can be sure of fair conditions between May and September, so take a look at the top last minute ski deals on and see if Tignes is the one for you. The Glacier de Pissaillas, at 3300m is what lies behind Val d’Isere’s summer success and it can be reached from the Le Fornet Cable Car, while those who like the French resort of Alpes d’Huez can ski on Glacier de Sarenne. The summer skiing at Alpes d’Huez is probably best suited to advanced skiers, but there is good glacier skiing at Val Thorens, Les Deux Alpes and La Plagne although the ski area might be less extensive at this time of year.

More Summer Skiing Choices

It’s not only France that offers the option of summer skiing to enthusiasts. Zermatt in Switzerland has skiing on the Theodul glacier throughout the year, though Saas Fee probaly enjoys the better conditions. However, Saas Fee is another resort where, although it has all types of piste during the winter ski season, the summer runs are possible best left to confident and accomplished skiers. Courmayeur in Italy is a good summer choice, and you can also ski the French resort of Chamonix where the glacier at Vallee Blanche where you can be sure of some good runs.
